Philosophy Statement
The Pen Argyl Area High School will provide students with a thorough educational program designed to enable them to become well-educated, mature, healthy, socially conscious, morally upright, and responsible citizens. We believe that the foundations of these ideals are self-discipline, tolerance for diversity, and respect for self, peers, teachers, and staff. We further believe that these standards of excellence and high ideals should be provided in all phases of the school program and that students should be taught to incorporate them in all aspects of their lives. Basic skills must be the backbone of each curricular area. As students develop, the school curriculum should meet individual needs, abilities, interests, and aspirations. It should be sufficiently broad to prepare students to pursue their chosen careers and should support a school-to-work transition that will foster lifelong learning.
