Mission Statement

The mission of Pen Argyl Area High School is to educate our students in a safe and supportive learning environment where students think critically, problem-solve effectively, and embrace lifelong learning while adhering to the Code of the Green Knights.

Philosophy Statement

The Pen Argyl Area High School will provide students with a thorough educational program designed to enable them to become well-educated, mature, healthy, socially conscious, morally upright, and responsible citizens. We believe that the foundations of these ideals are self-discipline, tolerance for diversity, and respect for self, peers, teachers, and staff. We further believe that these standards of excellence and high ideals should be provided in all phases of the school program and that students should be taught to incorporate them in all aspects of their lives. Basic skills must be the backbone of each curricular area. As students develop, the school curriculum should meet individual needs, abilities, interests, and aspirations. It should be sufficiently broad to prepare students to pursue their chosen careers and should support a school-to-work transition that will foster lifelong learning.

We promise:

We will accept the diversity of others.
We will be kind and considerate of everyone’s ideas and feelings.
Our actions will promote a safe and positive environment.
We will be effective role models through word and deed.
We will be part of the solution and not the problem.
We will work to include the excluded.
