Ms. Sallyann McCarty graduated Magna Cum Laude from East Stroudsburg University with a dual degree and dual teaching certificates in Elementary and Special Education in 1995. She went to Immaculata College for her teaching certificate in Family and Consumer Science finishing in 2000. Later that year, she was invited to join the Educators’ Forum for five summers at Johnson and Wales University. She was given the privilege to work under Johnson and Wales University’s top chef instructors, who ran four and five-star restaurants. The Educators’ Forum is a national invite by Johnson and Wales University to select educators in Family and Consumer Science.
Ms. Sallyann McCarty started her teaching career in the 1995-1996 school year. She was an Elementary Learning Support Teacher for Gateway School of the Lehigh Valley. She then received a long-term substitute position as a Learning Support teacher at Pen Argyl High School for the 1996-1997 school year. She went on to fill the Family Consumer Science teaching position at Pen Argyl High School under an emergency certificate until completing her coursework at Immaculata College. In 2000, she received her teaching certificate in Family and Consumer Science. Later that year, she was given the invitation to join the Educators Forum for five summers at Johnson and Wales University to work under their top chef instructors, who ran four and five-star restaurants. She has been teaching Family and Consumer Science since 1997 to present.
