Being a Bangor Area Senior High School graduate, I jumped on the opportunity to work for a school that is part of the community I grew up in. I remember fondly The Pen Argyl vs. Bangor football games and the marching band festivals I watched during my high school career. Pen Argyl embodies the spirit and sense of community I benefited so much from growing up. What struck me most about Pen Argyl HS was its code of the Green Knights: Protect Integrity, Accept Challenges, Honor Diversity, and Salute Kindness. Pen Argyl High School places much value on promoting student growth and contributions to the community. The long-standing traditions and ties Pen Argyl HS has to the area further prove their dedication to fostering a love of community.
I graduated from Bangor Area Senior High School in 2012. During my time there, I was a flute, piccolo, and alto saxophone player in various band ensembles such as the Marching Band, Jazz Band, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Flute Choir, and Pit Band. After my time at Bangor, I continued my education and received my Bachelor's Degree in Biology from East Stroudsburg University. During my time at ESU, my love of teaching grew and led me to pursue a career in education. After graduating in 2016, I spent the next few years in Philadelphia, where I received my Masters of Science in Education and my Masters in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University, respectively. While working on these degrees, I got the opportunity to work with students from many backgrounds and cultures at both the high school and collegiate levels. Recently, I moved back to my hometown to be a part of the community that shaped so much of my childhood.
Outside of my love of teaching, I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, and taking care of my menagerie of pets: a dog named Rosie and three cats named Sansa, Princess Thea, and Ezra. I still also love playing my flute from time to time. I wish all the Pen Argyl HS students a great school year!
